Rebuilding begins after Port Wentworth hotel fire
PORT WENTWORTH, GA (WTOC)- Rebuilding began Friday just hours after a three-story hotel caught fire in Port Wentworth.
Investigators still haven't found the cause of the fire but say arson isn't likely.
The flames erupted about 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Country Inn and Suites off Ga. 21 near Interstate 95. It took about half hour for Port Wentworth, Bloomingdale, Pooler and Savannah to put it out. The hotel was about half full when it happened, but injuries were minor. A firefighter had a pulled muscle and a hotel guest was treated on-scene for smoke inhalation.
