Free holiday parking in city garages
Downtown holiday shoppers will once again enjoy 3 hours of free parking in city garages every Thursday and Friday from Thanksgiving until Dec. 28. Daily rates apply after the first 3 hours of free parking.

Chatham Area Transit - HOLIDAY OPERATING SCHEDULE
The following schedules will be in effect during the holiday season:
- Thanksgiving Day, Nov 22 – No bus service and CAT offices will be closed. Telephone schedule information/ticket sales will not be available.
- Nov. 23 - Regular weekday bus service will be available. CAT offices will be closed. Telephone schedule information/ticket sales will not be available.
- Dec. 24, Christmas Eve - Holiday bus service will be available. Offices will be open from 8 AM – 5 PM.
- Christmas Day, Dec. 25 – No bus service and CAT offices will be closed. Telephone schedule information/ticket sales will not be available.
- Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve - Holiday bus service will be available. Offices will be open from 8 AM – 5 PM.
- New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, 2013 – No bus service and CAT offices will be closed. Telephone schedule information/ticket sales will not be available.
Adopt-a-Family during the Holiday Season
The Interfaith Hospitality Network’s Adopt a Family program pairs generous sponsors with families in need providing a Christmas they could not afford themselves. Each family has completed a wish list which can be faxed, emailed or picked up at the Interfaith Hospitality Network office at 126 Horizon Park, Savannah. The wish list is designed to help the sponsor get to know the children’s needs and desires. If you or your group would like to sponsor a family this year, contact Interfaith Hospitality Network at 912.790.9446 or lbrown@ihnsav.org.
America's Second Harvest Holiday Food Drive
'Tis the season to share a warm meal with family and friends, but some needy folks in our community may go without if the shelves aren't filled at America's Second Harvest Food Bank. Donations of non-perishable foods and all food items that are labeled and unopened are being accepted. America's Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia is located at 2501 East President Street, Savannah. Tybee Polar Plunge
Take a brisk plunge into the Atlantic Ocean. This year’s plunge welcomes the return of the "Gang of Goofs" contest. Everyone is invited to dress up in funny and wacky costumes for a chance to parade in front of an esteemed panel of judges and to win great prizes. There is no fee to enter the "Gang of Goofs" contest; $25 entry fee to take the plunge. All event proceeds benefit the restoration of the historic Tybee Post Theater on Tybee Island.

Santa’s holiday hours at Oglethorpe Mall
November 17-December 24, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with breaks from 1 to 2 p.m. and 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday hours are noon to 6 p.m. with a break from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Santa will also welcome cats and dogs on November 19 and November 26 and on December 3, 10 and 17 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The cottages of the historic district are decorated for the season.

Adams Christmas Lights
The Adams display of lights gets bigger each year. There is a donation box on site and appreciate all donations. Santa will be on the dock on Dec. 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
WHEN: Opens on Dec. 1, 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. then open nightly through the Dec. 28.

Able Foundation Christmas Ornaments For Sale
The ornament is the fourth in a commemorative series featuring favorite Lowcountry scenes. The 2012 ornament features a Heron. All proceeds go to support Camp Treasure Chest.

Celebrate The Season
New animated light displays, a weekend carousel and face time with Santa are just a few of the treats waiting for visitors to the 2012 Celebrate The Season holiday driving tour and weekend festival. Hours are 6-9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 5-9:30 p.m. Fridays through Sundays. Advanced tickets are available at the Old Santee Canal Park.
