Ga, SC tax free weekend set for August | Families
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A great way to save is coming to Georgia and South Carolina just in time for back to school shopping.
Georgia's tax free weekend has officially been set for Aug. 9-10. On those two days, businesses around the state will not charge sales tax on clothing, shoes, school supplies and computers. However, a pair of shoes and an item of clothing cannot cost more than $100 per item, school supplies cannot cost more than $20 per item, and there is a $1000 limit on computers and accessories.
Georgia's tax free weekend will begin at 12:01 a.m. on the second Friday in August and end at twelve midnight the following Saturday.
South Carolina's tax free weekend is scheduled for Aug. 2-4. It will begin at 12:01 a.m. on the first Friday in August and end at twelve midnight the following Sunday.
