CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - There are no new watering restrictions in Chatham County, because the old ones were never lifted.

The same restrictions the Metropolitan Planning Commission put into effect six years ago have never been changed.

Watering still only allowed on odd or even numbered days based on your street address with no watering between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily or at all on Friday.

And these are restrictions people should get used to, if they haven't already.

"It's something that we're talking about today, but is not going to go away,'' said Jackie Jackson Teel, director of comprehensive planning for the MPC. "These restrictions are going to be forever in effect in Chatham County. But our grandchildren will thank us down the line obviously when we have our natural resources.''
